Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test 2026: Apply by March 16

Applications have been invited for Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)-2026, for admissions to Integrated first degree Programs of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, at its Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses.
Programs: Integrated First degree programmes to which admissions will be made on the basis of BITSAT-2026 at different campus are the following: Bachelor of Engineering (BE): Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical, Manufacturing; Mathematics & Computing, Electronics & Computer, Environmental & Sustainability, Pharmaceutical Engineering; B.Pharm; M.Sc: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Semiconductor and Nanoscience and General Studies.

Eligibility: Applicant should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system / equivalent in 2025 or should be appearing for 12th examination in 2026. Applicants should have studied a minimum of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, one Language, and any additional subject beyond these four at Plus 2 level. Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for admission to all Programmes. Those who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for admission to B.Tech in Environmental & Sustainability and B.Pharm program. Applicants should have scored at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology and also obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. Students entering through the PCB stream at the 10+2 level for B.Tech in Environmental & Sustainability are expected to possess Mathematics proficiency at the high school (Class 10) level.
BITSAT-2026 will be conducted in 2 sessions. First session will be from 15th to 17th April, 2026 and the second session from 24th to 26th May, 2026. The candidate can choose the Center, the Day, and slot of his/her convenience to take the test, as described later in this document. One can attend one or both sessions. If one attends both sessions, the better of the two scores will be considered for selection.
Structure of BITSAT: BITSAT 2026 will be a Computer Based Online test of 3 hours’ duration. It will have objective type (multiple choice questions) from Physics (30 questions); Chemistry (30); English Proficiency (10); Logical Reasoning (20) and Mathematics/Biology (40). If a candidate answers all the 130 questions, without skipping any question, he/she has an option to attempt 12 extra questions, if there is still time left, 3 each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Logical Reasoning. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark). Details are given in the Brochure.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://www.bitsadmission.com/ latest by 16.3.2026. One can apply for the first session only or for both sessions latest by 16th March 2026. List of examination centres is given in the Brochure. Those applying now for the first session only, can apply for the second session later also when the application facility will be open for the second session. Application facility for Session 2 will be available from April 20, 2026 to May 2, 2026. The fee to be paid is given in the Brochure. The time lines for each activity is also given in the Brochure.
In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2026, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS later as per the time schedule announced. Application for admissions with 12th Marks and Preferences of Programmes can be submitted during 21st April to 01st June, 2026.
Direct Admission to Board Toppers: First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2026 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2026 score subject to the prescribed eligibility criteria. Details about this scheme will be available at BITS admission website later.
The candidates who join in M.Sc. programme (except M.Sc. General Studies) are eligible to apply for Dual Degree in Engineering at their respective Campuses of BITS Pilani after completion of first year. This assignment is made by competition on their performance at BITS at the end of the first year.
Candidates appearing for the BITSAT-2026, based on their BITSAT score, will not only have the opportunity to apply for Admissions in First Degree (B.E. M.Sc., and B.Pharm.) Programmes offered for the entire duration of the programmes exclusively by the Indian Campuses of BITS Pilani but also will have the opportunity to apply for a few selected 2+2 Joint Collaborative Programmes offered by BITS Pilani and a few reputed International Universities in Australia, USA, and France.
Candidates appearing for the BITSAT-2026, will also have the opportunity to apply for 3+2 integrated degree programmes offering integrated Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) programme with PCM input from BITS Pilani (STEM campuses in India) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from programme BITSOM, Mumbai, completed over a span of five years.
