MBBS Admission at AFMC Pune: Bond amount increased to Rs 61 lakh

The Bond amount payable by those admitted to Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune and withdrawing from the college after 7 days of admission will be Rs. 61,00,000/- (Rupees Sixty-One Lakh only) for 2021-22 admissions. For 202-21 admissions, it was Rs.30,00,000/- (Rs. Thirty Lakh only). Parents/guardians of the candidates are required to sign a bond agreement in this regard at the time of admission. Those admitted to AFMC for MBBS course have a compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The offer of the type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and shall be determined on merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the Short Service Commission (SSC) officers would be 7 years. The Permanent Commission (PC) Officers will have to serve in AFMS till date of superannuation. Complete details of Service Liability & Bond Agreement will be given to the candidates shortlisted for the screening.
Those seeking admission for MBBS course have to qualify in NEET UG 2021. Subsequently, they have to register and apply for AFMC, Pune at www.mcc.nic.in during the registration window provided by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The list of such registered candidates will be provided by DGHS to AFMC. Approximately 1600 candidates (1150 boys and 450 girls) will be shortlisted and called for the screening. The exact schedule of the screening at AFMC, Pune along with the details of the shortlisted candidates will be available at www.afmcdg1d.gov.in /www.mcc.nic.in.
Shortlisted candidates will appear for Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination at AFMC, Pune. The structure of ToELR is given in the Information Brochure. The marks obtained in ToELR will be added to NEET UG -2021 score out of 720, to get a score out of 800. This will be divided by 4 to get the written examination score out of 200. The interview will consist of 50 marks. The final merit will be based on the total of the written examination score and Interview marks. PAT will be a qualifying examination and its score will not be considered for preparing final merit list.
A total of 145 cadets including 115 boys & 30 girls will be admitted. Ten seats out of 145 are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC/ST.
Applicants must be unmarried and medically fit as per prescribed standards. Applicant should have attained the age of 17 years but must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2021 (must have been born not earlier than 01 January 1998 and not later than 31 December 2004).
Applicant must have passed one of the qualifying examinations listed in the first attempt with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these three science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the tenth standard.
