Maruti Suzuki E Vitara launching in December | Know full features, design and range

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is gearing up to launch its first fully electric vehicle, the E Vitara. The model was first unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and anticipation has been building ever since.
Launch Timeline
Production of the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara began in August 2025, with the first unit flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 August. While the company has confirmed a December launch window, several reports now suggest the electric SUV could debut on 2 December 2025. Maruti Suzuki has yet to officially announce the exact date.
Features
The E Vitara is expected to arrive with a premium feature set, including:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Fully automatic climate control
- Ventilated front seats
- Seven airbags
- 360-degree camera
- Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
- Level 2 ADAS safety suite
These additions place the E Vitara among the most feature-rich vehicles in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up.
Design
The electric SUV carries a sharp, modern design similar to the prototype showcased earlier this year. The front end is expected to sport:
- Y-shaped vertically stacked headlamps
- A slim front grille
- A charging port concealed beneath the Suzuki logo
- Low-mounted fog lamps positioned below the number plate
Overall, the styling cues signal a more contemporary look for the brand’s EV range.
Powertrain and Range
The E Vitara is likely to be offered with two battery pack options—49 kWh and 61 kWh—both using BYD’s LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology.
Key powertrain expectations include:
- 2WD and 4WD configurations
- Up to 500 km claimed range for the larger battery variant
- Multiple drive modes on AWD trims: Eco, Normal, Sport and Snow
With these specifications, the E Vitara aims to position itself competitively in India’s rapidly expanding EV segment.
