# Tech Desk

Reliance Industries has entered a groundbreaking partnership with Google to revolutionise artificial intelligence adoption across India. As part of this collaboration, eligible Reliance Jio users will gain 18 months of free access to Google’s premium AI Pro subscription, worth Rs 35,100, available initially to Jio 5G users aged 18 to 25 before being expanded nationwide.

This comprehensive AI package includes access to Google’s advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model through the Gemini app, cutting-edge image and video generation tools powered by Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models, expanded research capabilities with NotebookLM, and 2 terabytes of cloud storage for Photos, Gmail, Drive, and WhatsApp backups on Android devices. Users can activate this offer effortlessly via the MyJio app.

Beyond consumer offerings, the partnership aims to boost India’s AI infrastructure at an enterprise level. Reliance Intelligence, a newly formed subsidiary, will serve as a strategic partner for Google Cloud, providing Indian businesses greater access to Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This will enable local organisations to develop and train large-scale AI models efficiently, empowering digital transformation across sectors.

Additionally, Reliance Intelligence plans to accelerate the adoption of Gemini Enterprise, Google’s unified AI platform for businesses, by developing pre-built intelligent agents to enhance operational workflows. This initiative aligns with Mukesh Ambani’s vision to make India not only AI-enabled but AI-empowered, unlocking intelligent tools for innovation and growth across 1.45 billion Indians.

This alliance combines Reliance’s telecom and network scale with Google’s cutting-edge AI technology, promising to be a major catalyst for India’s digital future.

This strategic move also positions Reliance and Google at the forefront of the intensifying AI race in India, competing with rivals like OpenAI, which is also expanding free AI access to Indian users. The partnership marks a pivotal step in democratising AI, making powerful tools accessible to millions and fostering an AI-driven ecosystem in the world’s largest emerging market.
