Xiaomi is officially kicking off the new year with a major addition to its most popular smartphone lineup. The Redmi Note 15 5G is scheduled to launch in India today, January 6, at 11:00 AM IST, alongside the new Redmi Pad 2 Pro.

Marketed as the "108MP MasterPixel Edition," this new mid-ranger focuses heavily on a premium curved design and long-term performance stability. Here is everything you need to know ahead of the official unveiling.

Display and Design: A Touch of Premium

Breaking away from the flat-edge trend, the Redmi Note 15 5G will feature a 6.77-inch Curved AMOLED display.

  • Brightness: A staggering 3,200 nits peak brightness, aimed at superior outdoor visibility.
  • Fluidity: A 120Hz refresh rate paired with "Hydro Touch 2.0" technology, allowing the screen to remain responsive even with wet fingers.
  • Build: The device boasts an ultra-slim 7.35mm profile and an IP66 rating, making it highly resistant to dust and heavy splashes.

Performance: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

Under the hood, the device is confirmed to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Xiaomi is doubling down on longevity, promising 48 months of "lag-free" performance. The phone will ship with the latest HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, right out of the box.

Camera and Battery

The "MasterPixel" moniker refers to its 108MP primary camera, which now includes Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and support for 4K video recording, a major step up for the standard Note model.

Powering the device is a 5,520mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. Xiaomi claims this high-density battery can retain its health for up to five years of daily use.

Expected Price and Availability

While official pricing will be revealed tomorrow, industry leaks and retail listings suggest the following:

  • 8GB + 128GB: Expected at ₹22,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: Expected at ₹24,999
  • Colourways: Iris Purple, Black, and Blue.

The device will be sold via Amazon India, Mi.com, and Xiaomi retail partners.

Note that a separate Redmi 15 5G (non-Note) is also appearing in listings with a massive 7,000mAh battery; tomorrow’s event focuses specifically on the "Note" series and the new "Pro" tablet.
