PUBG Mobile Global Championship finals to begin in Bangkok

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 Grand Finals will commence on December 12 at Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand, following the conclusion of the Last Chance Qualifier on December 7 that determined the final two teams competing for the $1.6 million prize pool.

Team Flash from Vietnam and Alter Ego Ares from Indonesia secured the last two Grand Finals slots after finishing first and second, respectively, in the high-stakes Last Chance stage. The 16-team field will compete across 18 matches from December 12-14, with the champion taking home $500,000.

Tournament Format and Smash Rule

The Grand Finals will feature six matches daily across three maps: Rondo, Erangel, and Miramar. The final day introduces the Smash Rule format, where teams reaching the match point threshold, calculated as the first-place team's points after Match 12 plus 10, become eligible to claim the championship by securing a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner in subsequent matches. If no eligible team wins a match by the end of Day 3, the team with the highest overall points will be crowned champion.

Qualified Teams and Favourites

Defending champions Dplus Kia from South Korea will attempt to retain their title, while DRX, also from South Korea, enters as a favourite after dominating Group Red with 179 points and five Chicken Dinners. Mongolia's Alpha Gaming topped Group Green, while Turkey's presence is notable with three teams advancing: Regnum Carya (the 2025 PMGO champions), Kara Esports, and ULF Esports.

China's ThunderTalk Gaming, one of seven teams that qualified directly from the Gauntlet Stage, aims to restore Chinese dominance in the tournament.

Indian Teams Eliminated

Both Indian teams failed to advance, with True Rippers finishing 14th in Group Red with 62 points, falling short of the top-11 cutoff needed to reach the Last Chance stage. Their elimination, along with the Orangutan's earlier exit, marks the end of India's campaign despite receiving two PMGC slots for the first time.
