Leaks indicate that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will bring back Liberty Falls as the next Warzone Resurgence map in its first season. Originally introduced as a Zombies map in Black Ops 6, Liberty Falls is set to be expanded and repurposed for Resurgence mode in Warzone, scheduled for late 2025.

The leak, shared by well-known insider TheGhostofHope, reveals that the map will include multiple locations such as the city of Liberty Falls itself, Shattered Veil (Ricktoffen's manor), and Janice Towers, combining for a large and intricate battleground. However, early playtesters reportedly gave the map mixed reviews, expressing that it does not live up to the successful formula of previous fan-favourite maps like Rebirth Island.

This development has been met with disappointment from many players eagerly expecting a fresh Battle Royale experience. The return of a Zombies map as a Resurgence battleground appears to be a divisive move, given that fans have long awaited a new and innovative Warzone map.

Previously rumoured maps such as Avalon were shelved as main Warzone settings in favour of retaining Verdansk, which will continue to be featured alongside the new Resurgence map. Activision is expected to provide official details and gameplay footage at the upcoming Call of Duty NEXT event scheduled for late September 2025.

The reintroduction of Liberty Falls in Warzone promises to reshape the Resurgence experience, though it remains to be seen whether it will win over fans or face backlash similar to previous map releases.
