Jio's 5G service in Kerala: Enjoy fastest network without changing SIM

Reliance Jio has launched its 5G services in Kerala. The service was launched in Kochi City and Guruvayur temple premises. The company informed that the service would extend to other major cities within a month.  

Even though Jio has not yet revealed any 5G plans, the company will not charge any additional charges for services in the initial phase. People with handsets that support 5G can use the service without changing their SIM cards. The service will be available to people using a postpaid connection or numbers recharged with a prepaid plan of Rs 239 or above.

Only those who received the 'Welcome Offer' can use the 5G service.

Here are the steps to activate 5G on your phone: 

• Visit ‘My Jio’ app 
• Click the banner titled ‘Jio Welcome Offer
• Once you enter the page, choose Jio in the ‘mobile network’ option in the phone's settings
• Select 5G in the ‘preferred network type’ option

After completing this, the 5G sign will appear at the top of the phone. Thereafter, 5G services would be available on the phone.
