GTA 6 gameplay leak sparks fan excitement ahead of 2026 launch

A former Rockstar employee has leaked early gameplay footage for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), offering fans a first glimpse of potential new mechanics in the game. Few video games have generated as much hype ahead of their release as GTA 6, which is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, over 12 years after the release of GTA 5. Despite the long wait, excitement for the game continues to grow with every reveal.
Rockstar officially unveiled GTA 6 in December 2023 after many delays. The game marks the series’ return to Vice City in the HD era, a city not featured in the franchise since 2007’s Vice City stories. Rockstar has also teased several main characters, including Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, fueling fan speculation and anticipation.

The leaked demo reel, reportedly compiled by a former Rockstar employee, shows several snippets of early gameplay. One clip features a player interacting with a bike rental station, highlighting animations for mounting and dismounting bicycles. Another scene shows protagonist Lucia Caminos leaping from the roof of a truck to the ground, suggesting players may be able to ride in the beds of pickup trucks.
Interestingly, the demo reel also includes footage from Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5, and Max Payne 3. However, it remains unclear whether the leaked visuals are really part of the GTA 6 gameplay. Several media reports indicate that this might be an AI-generated clip.
Gameplay features fans can expect
The early footage hints at several gameplay features likely to appear in GTA 6. Bicycle rental shops appear to make a return, similar to GTA 5, allowing players to pay for bikes for temporary use. The footage also suggests major upgrades to pickup trucks, potentially allowing more players to ride in the truck bed, which could extend into GTA 6’s online multiplayer component.
GTA 6 promises a richer gameplay experience, with the game’s Vice City reportedly offering deeper, more interactive environments. Developers are expected to expand on GTA 5’s mini-games while adding new activities such as hunting and scuba diving. Combat mechanics are also likely to receive a revamp, with an improved cover system potentially inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2.
Despite multiple delays, GTA 6 continues to generate intense excitement. The Game Awards recently nominated the title for “Most Anticipated Game” for the second year in a row, following its win last year. The game’s latest delay, moving the release from May to November 2026, has not dampened fan enthusiasm.
