Atari has teamed up with Bandai Namco and Plaion Replai to launch the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition, a vibrant tribute to the beloved classic celebrating Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary. This special edition console features a bright banana-yellow case, a matching CX40+ wireless joystick, and the Pac-Man Double Feature cartridge, which includes the all-new arcade-style Pac-Man 7800 and the original Atari 2600 release of Pac-Man from 1982.
The Atari 2600+ is a modernised version of the iconic 1980s console, now upgraded with HDMI output for compatibility with contemporary TVs, backward and forward cartridge support, and firmware update capabilities via micro-USB. The console’s front panel is illuminated with Pac-Man character icons, adding a nostalgic yet stylish flair for collectors and fans.
Pre-orders for the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition opened on July 23, 2025, with a launch date set for October 31, 2025, marking the anniversary of Pac-Man’s original arcade debut. The console bundle is priced at approximately $165 USD, while additional wireless joysticks inspired by Pac-Man’s ghostly foes—Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde—are available individually for around $40 each.
