Gemini to the rescue? Bengaluru founder uses AI after road rage, gets biker to apologise

Bengaluru: A road-rage incident involving a Bengaluru startup founder took an unexpected turn after he used Google's AI chatbot Gemini to help navigate the complaint process, eventually resulting in the biker involved apologising and paying for the damage to his car.

Siddharth Dialani, founder and CEO of BharatAgri, shared a three-part post detailing the incident and uploaded pictures showing the damage to his vehicle.

“I was a victim of road rage in Bangalore a few days back,” Siddharth wrote. He said he turned to Gemini for help drafting a complaint to the Koramangala police station and was advised to obtain a written acknowledgement after submitting it.

According to Siddharth, police officers initially spent time trying to trace the biker. “Police realised that I wouldn't leave without the acknowledgement copy. They fed me a samosa (just like in movies) while they searched for the rowdy biker who hit my car,” he added.

Siddharth said the incident began after the biker, who was travelling with his wife, allegedly believed that the car had brushed against his bike. The confrontation then escalated, he said.

“He got me to stop my car, kicked the side gate violently, got on his bike and rammed my car from behind,” Siddharth wrote. He alleged that the biker later overtook his car and repeatedly braked in front of it “to intimidate” him.

The biker, Siddharth said, was unaware that the entire episode had been captured on his car's dashcam.

He subsequently submitted the footage along with other evidence at the Koramangala police station. Siddharth said the police cooperated and used the registration number visible in the video to identify the rider.

“They got the bike number from my dashcam recording and found the biker's phone number from their database,” he wrote.

The biker was then summoned to the police station. Siddharth said the man initially claimed that he had been hit by him first. However, after police showed him the photographs and warned that the matter could lead to an FIR and criminal case, the biker agreed to settle the dispute.

“Got him to write an apology letter and pay me for the damages,” Siddharth said.

Wrapping up his account, the BharatAgri founder offered a tongue-in-cheek take on the experience: “Gemini is my lawyer now!”
