Indian women’s cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and filmmaker Palash Muchhal were scheduled to tie the knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, but their much-anticipated wedding came to an abrupt, unexpected halt.

Families initially cited a medical emergency, prompting a sudden postponement. Soon after, fans noticed that Smriti had deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram, including engagement and proposal photos—fueling widespread speculation.

Online Rumours Spiral

As discussions on Reddit and Instagram gathered momentum, an anonymous post claimed that two choreographers from the Bosco group, Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz, who were training the couple for their sangeet performances, were “somehow involved” in the situation. The unverified allegations quickly spread, leading to both names trending across platforms.

What Gulnaaz Said

Responding to the growing chatter, choreographer Gulnaaz issued a strong clarification on Instagram.

She wrote: “I've been noticing a lot of speculation and false claims going around about me & my friend Nandika, so I want to clear this straight that we are not the people involved in this issue. Just because we know someone socially or have a photo with them doesn’t mean we are connected to their personal matters.”

She further urged people to “keep things respectful” and avoid jumping to conclusions.

Her statement came at a time when speculation was at its peak, with posts, threads and comments across social platforms theorising what might have gone wrong between Smriti and Palaash. None of these claims has been verified.

Silence From The Couple

Meanwhile, Nandika Dwivedi has not issued any statement and has made her social media profile private.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal, too, have maintained complete silence. Their teams have not offered any clarification either.

According to family members and wedding organisers, the ceremony was deferred due to a genuine medical concern within the family. Apart from this, both sides have chosen not to comment further—even as fan theories and rumours continue to intensify online.

The situation remains clouded in speculation, with only one clear message so far: the choreographers insist they have no involvement in the controversy.
