Here's why Vinesh Phogat was disqualified

Vinesh Phogat, India’s medal hopes at Paris Olympics has been reportedly disqualified from the Olympics.
Phogat successfully made weight for her Tuesday bouts but was required to maintain her weight within the category on both days of the competition. Unfortunately, she was disqualified for being just 100 grams over the limit. According to the reports, she was around 2 kilos over the permissible weight on Tuesday night.
Despite spending the night jogging, skipping, and cycling to shed the extra weight, Phogat was unable to meet the weight criteria in time.
According to competition rules, Phogat’s disqualification means she will not be eligible for a silver medal. Only the gold and bronze medals will be awarded in the 50 kg category.
The Indian delegation requested extra time for Phogat to meet the weight requirements, but their plea was denied.
Vinesh Phogat was scheduled to fight Sarah Hildebrandt of the United States in the women's freestyle 50kg finals.
The bout was scheduled at 11:23 PM IST on August 7 and was expected to be a classic encounter.
