Kozhikode: Former national handball player falls unconscious amidst Onam celebrations; dies

Kozhikode: Former national handball player Gypsy Joseph (52) fell unconscious amidst the Onam celebrations at Vellimadukunnu Holy Redeemer Church on Sunday. She was rushed to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. Gypsy was a native of Marikunnu.
She was part of the Kerala team which participated in the national handball championship held in Varanasi, Nagpur, and Jammu Kashmir between 1990-92.
Gypsy was working as the administrative assistant at the Malappuram agriculture office. She is survived by her husband (retired government officer) and two kids.
