Josef Newgarden walks off terrifying IndyCar crash | WATCH

Two-time Indianapolis 500 champion Josef Newgarden endured a terrifying crash during Sunday night's IndyCar race at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois, seeing his car flip upside down in a spectacular incident.
The dramatic crash occurred midway through the race following contact with rookie Louis Foster. Foster's car spun into the wall, then shot across the track directly into the path of Newgarden's No 2 Chevrolet. Unable to avoid the direct collision, Newgarden's car was launched into the air, impacted the SAFER barrier, landed on its roof, and skidded for a considerable distance before coming to a rest.
The IndyCar safety crew was immediately on the scene, swiftly assisting Newgarden from his inverted vehicle. Crucially, Newgarden quickly radioed his Team Penske crew to confirm he was "fine," easing initial fears. The safety team then worked to right his car, and the race was placed under caution for the extensive cleanup required.
Foster, reflecting on the incident, stated, “I got a bit of a wiggle ... got a bit too high and went into the marbles. I just couldn’t stop the car from spinning and, obviously, a pretty scary impact with myself and Josef. I’m glad he is OK."
Newgarden, however, declined to offer comments after being released from the medical center following evaluation.
The incident compounded a challenging day for Team Penske, which entered Sunday night's race winless this season. Earlier in the event, Newgarden's teammate Will Power, who had started from pole position, also crashed when a cut tire caused him to hit the wall.
