'I still remember those nights when we stayed awake, kept talking': Shami wishes Aaira on her birthday

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami shared a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating his daughter Aaira’s 10th birthday, expressing deep affection for her amid ongoing legal disputes with his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan. Shami posted emotional photographs alongside a touching message that read: "Dear daughter, I still remember all those nights when we stayed awake, kept talking, kept laughing and especially your dance. I can't believe that you are growing up so fast, I want only good things for you in life. May God give you love, peace, happiness and good health today and always. Happy birthday."

This public show of affection comes amid a long-standing legal battle following Shami's separation from Hasin Jahan in 2018. The couple’s relationship ended after Jahan accused Shami of domestic and sexual abuse. Their daughter Aaira currently resides with Jahan in Kolkata.

Earlier, Shami had posted about a previous reunion with Aaira, sharing a candid moment from a mall outing and writing: "Time stood still when I saw her again after a long time. Love you more than words can say, Bebo."

Recently, the Calcutta High Court directed Shami to pay Rs 4 lakh in monthly maintenance — Rs 2.5 lakh for Aaira and Rs 1.5 lakh for Jahan. In response, Jahan told PTI, "The lifestyle that Shami lives Rs 4 lakh is less. We had demanded Rs 10 Lakh every month for seven years and four months back. Now that the cost of things has also increased, we will go for 'CAVEAT'." While acknowledging the verdict, she maintained that they would seek more support for their daughter’s future.
