Mercedes driver George Russell delivered a commanding performance to win the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, marking his second victory of the 2025 Formula One season. The win also confirmed McLaren’s dominance, as the British team clinched the Constructors’ Championship with six races remaining in the calendar.

Starting from pole position, Russell controlled the pace throughout the race under the humid conditions of Marina Bay. The victory held personal significance for the 27-year-old, who had crashed out of podium contention on the final lap at the same circuit in 2023.

Behind Russell, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen managed to hold off a late challenge from McLaren’s Lando Norris to secure second place. Norris completed the podium in third, ensuring enough points for McLaren to wrap up their second consecutive Constructors’ title.

The race began with drama as McLaren teammates Norris and Oscar Piastri made slight contact in the opening corners. Despite the early tension, both continued, with Piastri finishing fourth and maintaining a 22-point lead over Norris in the Drivers’ Championship. Verstappen remains 41 points further behind in third.

Further down the order, Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli impressed with a solid drive to fifth place. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished sixth ahead of Lewis Hamilton, whose result remains under review for exceeding track limits. Fernando Alonso crossed the line in eighth, followed by Haas’ Ollie Bearman in ninth and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in tenth.

The result tightened the championship race as the season heads into its final phase, with McLaren in control of the team standings and the driver battle intensifying between Piastri and Norris.
