At a Premier League match screening event in Dwarka, Wright-Phillips stated, "Kevin De Bruyne is Kevin De Bruyne. He’s like he’s got Satan in his foot. For an attacking player, he’s the perfect player to have behind you. He is probably one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history. Many would agree, and arguably he’s one of the best in the world."

De Bruyne joined Manchester City in August 2015 from Wolfsburg. Earlier this year, he marked his 100th goal for the club against Crystal Palace and has accumulated numerous assists, including 19 for Erling Haaland over the last two seasons. He also holds the record for the quickest player to reach 100 Premier League assists, achieving it in just 237 matches.

Wright-Phillips also spoke about City striker Erling Haaland, suggesting he could break Lionel Messi's record of 91 goals in a single season, set in 2012 with Barcelona. "Haaland has shown what he’s capable of over the last two years. He’s nearly reached 100 goals within a season, so as long as the chances are there and he’s in form, I don’t see why he can’t break that record. However, I don’t think he’s focused on that; he’s more about scoring goals," said the 42-year-old.

Haaland made a significant impact after joining the Premier League from the Bundesliga in 2022. In his debut season with Manchester City, he won the 'Gerd Muller Trophy' for Best Striker of the Year, helping the team secure a treble, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League. He scored a remarkable 56 goals across all competitions that season, breaking the record for most goals by a Premier League player in a single season. Last season, he netted 27 goals in 31 league appearances and contributed five assists, continuing his impressive form as City clinched another league title and League Cup double in the 2023-24 season.  | ANI
