The disappearance of Smriti Mandhana’s pre-wedding posts on Instagram briefly sent fans into a tailspin, leading many to speculate that something was amiss between the cricketer and her fiancé, music composer Palash Muchhal. Social media quickly filled with screenshots and assumptions, with some users convinced the two had quietly unfollowed each other.

However, a closer look reveals a far less dramatic reality. Despite the flurry of online speculation, Mandhana and Muchhal continue to follow one another on Instagram, effectively dismissing rumours of a breakup. Their wedding, which had originally been planned for 23 November, was postponed due to medical emergencies in both families, adding context to their current low-profile approach.

It appears that the removal of a few posts simply sparked unnecessary confusion. In truth, the couple’s social media activity remains unchanged, and their online connection intact, suggesting no trouble between them.

Series of incidents

Smriti and Palash had planned to marry on November 23 in her hometown, Sangli, but postponed the ceremony after her father suffered a heart-related medical emergency. Among the removed posts was their engagement announcement, including a viral dance clip shared by Jemimah Rodrigues. The disappearance of these posts triggered rumours about their relationship, prompting Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, to clarify that the delay is solely due to Smriti’s father’s health. Neither Smriti nor Palash has commented publicly on the situation. (With inputs from Agencies)
