Aichi-Nagoya: Indian para-athlete Manjeet secured the silver medal in the men's javelin throw F13 event at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games on Wednesday, registering a personal-best mark of 61.03 metres.

With his podium finish, Manjeet raised India's overall medal count at the continental multi-sport event to 46.

Manjeet produced his career-best performance on his second attempt in the combined men's javelin throw F12/13 event, sealing second place in the F13 classification. The Indian thrower has enjoyed a successful 2026 campaign, having previously claimed gold in the men's F13 javelin at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Delhi and the Indian Open Para Athletics Championships in Bengaluru, alongside top honours at the Asian Para Games qualifiers with a 59.08-metre mark.

Manjeet's silver represented India's 30th medal in para athletics at the ongoing Games, bringing the national tally to 12 gold, 16 silver, and 18 bronze medals.

Earlier in the day, Indian field athletes executed the delegation's second podium clean sweep of the competition as Sachin Khilari, Mohd Yasser, and Praveen captured gold, silver, and bronze respectively in the men's shot put F46 final.

Khilari, a Paralympic medallist, clinched gold with a Games-record mark of 15.87 metres on his final attempt. Yasser took silver with a season-best effort of 15.06 metres, while Praveen secured bronze with a distance of 14.94 metres.

The trio's victory followed India's earlier podium sweep in the men's discus throw F43/F44/F62/F64 event on Day 2, where Devender Kumar, Rakesh, and Pardeep Kumar swept all three medals. Devender secured gold with 781 Raza points, Rakesh took silver with 771 points, and Pardeep earned bronze with 669 points. Despite achieving the longest raw throw of the contest at 51.15 metres, Pardeep placed third under the Raza point system, which adjusts scores across varying disability classifications.

In the women's events, Bhagyashri Jadhav added a silver medal to India's tally in the shot put F34 final. She recorded a personal-best mark of 8.19 metres on her third throw to finish behind China's Lijuan Zou, who took gold with a Games-record mark of 9.07 metres. The performance marked Jadhav's second consecutive silver medal in the event at the Asian Para Games.
