Kerala and Services have booked their places in the 79th Santosh Trophy final after impressive semi-final performances in Assam. Kerala secured their spot in the final with a dominant 4-0 victory over Punjab at Dhakuakhana. Bibin Ajayan opened the scoring in the 34th minute following a defensive error. Viknesh doubled the lead just before half-time with a composed finish from the left. After the break, Kerala maintained control, adding two more goals, including a strike from Riyas after Punjab lost possession near their penalty area.

Services advanced to the final after defeating Railways 2-0 at Silapathar. Abhishek Pawar scored both goals for Services. He netted the opener in the 33rd minute from a set piece and later converted a penalty in the 73rd minute to seal the victory.

Both finalists are seven-time champions. Kerala have also finished runners-up nine times, including last season when they lost to West Bengal in the final. Services have claimed the title seven times and ended as runners-up on five occasions.

The final promises a competitive contest, with Kerala’s attacking strength set to challenge Services’ disciplined defensive structure. With history and redemption at stake, both teams will aim to lift their eighth Santosh Trophy crown.
