Football fans in Hyderabad are in for a historic moment as Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has confirmed that Lionel Messi will visit Hyderabad on December 13, 2025, as part of his “GOAT India Tour 2025.” The announcement, made during the unveiling of the event’s poster in Jubilee Hills, has sparked widespread excitement.

With this, Hyderabad joins Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi as key stops on Messi’s India tour. The Telangana government, local football academies, and sports associations are planning extensive fan events, football clinics, and community initiatives around the visit.

Originally, a friendly match was proposed in Kochi, but it did not materialise. And now, Hyderabad has been favoured for its strong sporting infrastructure and passionate supporters. Authorities are preparing large-scale security and crowd management for the event.
