Super League Kerala final: Thrissur Magic FC to lock horns with Kannur Warriors on December 19

Thrissur Magic FC will face Kannur Warriors FC in the final of the Super League Kerala. Thrissur qualified for their maiden final by defeating Malappuram FC 3–1 in the second semi-final held at the Corporation Stadium. A hat-trick by Trinidad and Tobago player Marcus Joseph powered Thrissur to victory, while Abdelhay Forsy scored the consolation goal for Malappuram.
Thrissur opened the scoring in the 26th minute. A free-kick from just outside the box taken by Marcus Joseph found the target after deflecting off Malappuram defender Nithin Madhu in the defensive wall and changing direction (1–0). Malappuram drew level in first-half injury time when Moroccan player Abdelhay Forsy converted from a free-kick to make it 1–1.
Malappuram had a fine chance to take the lead in the very first minute of the second half. Youngster Abhijith played a pass to Aitor Aldalur, whose return effort grazed the post and went wide. In the 65th minute, Faisal Ali struck a powerful shot following a back-heel pass from Marcus Joseph, but failed to hit the target. Thrissur finally took control late in the match, scoring their second goal in the 84th minute and adding a third in injury time, both goals coming from Marcus Joseph.
