Kerala Blasters unveil new FIFA-standard training ground ‘The Sanctuary’ in Tripunithura

Kochi: Kerala Blasters FC has officially unveiled its new training ground named "The Sanctuary" as the club enters 11th year of establishment. Located near the Mini Bypass in Tripunithura, the facility meets FIFA standards and will soon serve as the primary training ground for the team, pending final decisions on the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) and Super Cup seasons.
With this development, the team will permanently move away from its long-time training ground at the Panampilly Nagar Sports Council Ground in Kochi. The name "The Sanctuary" aligns with the club’s logo, which features an elephant with tusks, symbolising strength and heritage.
The training centre is built on land leased for 10 years from Sree Narayana Vidyapeetam Public School, with provisions in place to extend the lease. The entire project took around one and a half years to complete.
One of the key highlights of the new facility is its Bermuda grass pitch, constructed to FIFA’s standard dimensions of 105 metres in length and 68 metres in width. The natural clay base of the field was completely removed and replaced with a modern pitch supported by an integrated sprinkler system and advanced drainage infrastructure, ensuring the ground remains playable even during heavy rains.
The Sanctuary also features comprehensive facilities, including:
• Dedicated rooms for coaches and support staff
• Medical and physiotherapy infrastructure
• Dressing rooms
• Performance analysis halls
• Meeting and strategy rooms
The new centre will cater not only to the senior team but also to reserve players and academy trainees, allowing the entire Kerala Blasters ecosystem to train under one roof fully owned and operated by the club.
