Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta signs new contract extending tenure to 2030

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract extending his stay with the Premier League champions until 2030, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 44-year-old Spaniard, who took charge in December 2019, is currently the longest-serving manager in the Premier League. Arteta guided Arsenal to the league title last season, ending the club's 22-year wait to be crowned champions of England once again.
Expressing his delight over the extension, Arteta highlighted the journey and ambition ahead.
"We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime," Arteta said in a club statement, "and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together."
Arteta’s connection with the Gunners runs deep, having spent the final five years of his playing career at the North London club before stepping into the dugout.
Reinforcing their support for the manager, Arsenal co-chairmen Stan and Josh Kroenke praised Arteta's alignment with the club's identity.
"He has a deep understanding of Arsenal's values and carries them in his heart," Arsenal co-chairmen Stan and Josh Kroenke said. "He knows what this club means to everyone connected to it and is committed to building on everything we have achieved together." (AP)
