AIFF turned down Argentina's offer to face Indian team in friendly: Report

In a massive disappointment for football fans in the country, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has turned down an opportunity for the Indian National Football Team to face Lionel Messi-led Argentina in a friendly match.
In the ongoing international window, Argentina FA has set aside two slots for national teams from across the globe to face off with their World Cup-winning team.
Despite receiving an offer from Argentina FA, AIFF has turned down the golden opportunity by citing budget constraints. As a result, Argentina faced Australia and Indonesia. Both matches recorded massive ticket revenue and was watched by millions from across the world.
AIFF secretary general confirmed they had received the offer from world champions, but decided to turn down the offer citing huge demand by Argentina FA, reports Times of India.
