‘With GOAT Lalettan’; Sanju Samson’s selfie with Mohanlal sparks suspense

Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam cricketer Sanju Samson is currently on a break after the T20I series against England. He was not part of the squad for the series against Zimbabwe. His next assignment is expected to be the upcoming Asian Games.

Meanwhile, a picture shared by Sanju has caught the attention of fans. The cricketer shared a picture with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. The image, initially posted by the Team Samson account, was reshared by Sanju on his official Instagram story.

The picture is a selfie of Sanju Samson and Mohanlal inside a vehicle. Team Samson shared the photo with the caption, “Something special is coming.” Sanju posted a similar message.

“Getting to do something like this with Lalettan, the greatest of all time, is a special experience,” Sanju wrote alongside the picture.

IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings also shared the photograph with the caption, “Chettanum Ettanum” (brother and elder brother). The picture has already gone viral on social media, with fans convinced that there is a surprise behind it. However, there is no clarity yet on what exactly it is.

Sanju had said last year that he draws inspiration from Mohanlal to adapt to different roles in his career. The Malayalam cricketer was responding to Sanjay Manjrekar’s question about his preferred batting position in the Indian team.

“You have scored three centuries for India as an opener. Which position are you most comfortable in?” Manjrekar had asked Sanju.

“Recently, our Lalettan, the actor from Kerala, Mohanlal, received one of the country’s biggest awards. He has been acting for the last 30-40 years. I have also been playing for the country for the last 10 years. So I cannot say that I can only play the hero’s role. I want to play the villain’s role and the joker’s role too. Just because I have scored runs as an opener, you cannot say that I am the best in the top three. Let me try this as well. Who knows, I might make a good villain? Let’s see how this goes. Sanju Mohanlal Samson,” Sanju had joked.
