Agni Dev Chopra, son of Bollywood director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Indian author journalist Anupama Chopra, has etched his name in the history of the Ranji Trophy by achieving a remarkable feat. Playing for Mizoram, the talented cricketer scored a century in the first innings and a double century in the second innings against Arunachal Pradesh, becoming the first player in domestic cricket to accomplish this extraordinary achievement in a single match.

During the 2024-25 season of the Ranji Trophy, Chopra accumulated an impressive total of 348 runs across four innings. In the first innings against Arunachal, he scored 110 runs, followed by a stunning 238 runs in the second innings. This exceptional performance not only secured a record for Chopra but also contributed to Mizoram’s massive 267-run victory in the match.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, known for his recent hit film "12th Fail," has also directed notable works such as "1942: A Love Story" (1994) and "Mission Kashmir" (2000). Agnidev's success marks an important milestone, highlighting the growing talent emerging from Indian domestic cricket.

Anupama Chopra is a prominent author, journalist, and film critic, known for her extensive contributions to Indian cinema. From 2015 to 2023, she served as the festival director of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Chopra is the founder and editor of the now-defunct digital platform Film Companion and has penned several influential books on Indian cinema. Her insightful critiques have appeared in notable publications, including NDTV, India Today, and the Hindustan Times. Additionally, she hosted the weekly film review show, "The Front Row With Anupama Chopra", on Star World. In recognition of her work, she received the National Film Award for Best Book on Cinema in 2000 for her debut book, "Sholay: The Making of a Classic". (With inputs from Agencies)
