Will Suryakumar Yadav move to KKR? Know details

The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been overshadowed by tumultuous changes at the Mumbai Indians (MI). The franchise made headlines by swapping long-time captain Rohit Sharma for Hardik Pandya, luring the all-rounder back from the Gujarat Titans in a high-profile cash deal. This dramatic decision has sparked rumours of a rift between Sharma and Pandya, speculated to be a factor in MI's disappointing finish at the bottom of the points table.
Despite apparent reconciliation during India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign earlier this year, speculation continues to swirl around Rohit Sharma's future. Reports suggest Sharma has been approached by multiple franchises interested in having him at the helm for the upcoming IPL season.
The intrigue doesn't stop there for MI. Recent developments have added to the saga, with reports emerging that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have shown interest in Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav, who was recently appointed captain of India’s T20I team, is reportedly being courted by KKR to lead their squad starting with IPL 2025.
According to a video by journalist Rohit Juglan, KKR has made an unofficial approach to Yadav, with a potential trade deal on the horizon. The proposed swap could see Yadav return to a former team while Shreyas Iyer, who led KKR to a title victory last year, might move in the opposite direction.
With a mega auction scheduled before the next season, these rumours could gain momentum. However, KKR has yet to release any official statement regarding these speculations.
Currently, both Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer are participating in the ongoing Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, adding another layer of complexity to their future IPL commitments. (With inputs from Agencies)
