Mumbai: Indian cricket star and women's team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has made her first appearance on social media nearly two weeks after postponing her wedding to singer-composer Palash Muchhal due to her father's sudden medical emergency.

Mandhana posted a paid partnership video on Instagram, reflecting on her cricketing journey and growth over the years.

The video marks her first public communication since November 23, the day her wedding in Sangli was halted after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, reportedly developed “symptoms of a heart attack” and was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital.

The moment the video went live, fans flooded the comments with relief and affection. Messages such as “Stay blessed, Smriti,” “Babygirl is back!” and “Hope you’re doing okay, didi” quickly took over the post, with followers expressing both joy at her return and concern for her family’s well-being.

Despite the personal setback, Mandhana’s professional graph continues its upward climb. She was recently retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for ₹3.5 crore at the WPL 2026 Mega Auction, remaining the franchise’s first and most valuable retention.

Mandhana, who led RCB to their historic WPL 2024 championship, is set to continue as captain. Her on-field dominance was further highlighted during the Women’s World Cup 2025, where she finished as the tournament’s second-highest scorer with 434 runs in nine matches—averaging 54.25 with a strike rate of 99.08, including two half-centuries and a century.

With her latest social media post, fans believe Smriti Mandhana is slowly finding her way back to normalcy—professionally focused, personally healing, and unmistakably adored.

The wedding fiasco:

The much-anticipated wedding of Smriti Mandhana and singer-composer Palash Muchhal turned into an unexpected family crisis on November 23, when celebrations in Sangli came to an abrupt halt after Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, reportedly showed “symptoms of a heart attack.”

Guests were left stunned as the family rushed him to Sarvhit Hospital, forcing all ceremonies to be postponed indefinitely.

What was meant to be a joyous union quickly spiralled into a tense, emotional episode, with both families prioritising Srinivas’ recovery while maintaining complete silence on the new wedding date.
