Mumbai: The highly anticipated wedding celebrations of music composer Palash Muchhal and cricket star Smriti Mandhana have been put on hold, shifting the focus from festivity to family health crisis. The couple's November 23rd ceremony was postponed following a double health emergency that saw Smriti's father fall ill and, soon after groom-to-be, Palash, also requiring hospitalisation.

Singer Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister and a known figure of support for the couple, was filmed arriving at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday morning to check on her brother.

In a viral video shared by Viral Bhayani, Palak was seen quickly making her way inside the hospital. She offered only a slight nod of acknowledgement to the waiting paparazzi, highlighting the family's stress and their plea for privacy during this difficult time.

The official confirmation of the postponement came via Palak Muchhal's Instagram Story, where she requested respect for the families' privacy. Her story read, "Due to Smriti's dad health, Smriti and Palaash's wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families in this sensitive time."

The family crisis began on Sunday morning when Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, reportedly suffered symptoms of a heart attack. The very next day, Palash Muchhal was briefly hospitalised initially due to a viral infection and increased acidity.

A report in the Hindustan Times revealed the emotional depth behind the postponement, stating that it was Palash Muchhal who insisted on delaying the wedding.

Palash's mother, Amita Muchhal, explained the composer's bond with Smriti’s father. "Palash is extremely attached to Smriti's father... The two of them are even closer than Smriti is with him," she shared.

She detailed the emotional toll the news took on her son, "When he fell ill, it was Palash, before Smriti, who decided that they should not go ahead with the wedding rituals until he gets better... He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated."

She confirmed that while Palash was treated for stress and received an IV drip, ECG, and other tests that came back normal, he remains "under a lot of stress."
