Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s light-hearted tweet from nearly eleven years ago found a witty reply after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday in their latest IPL clash.

On May 28, 2014, Salman had posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Zinta’s team won kya?” — a reference to actress Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings franchise. This tweet, casual in tone, was delivered during the peak of IPL fever that year.

Now, eleven years later, Royal Challengers Bengaluru decided to dig up the post and deliver a cheeky reply. After securing a confident victory over the Punjab Kings on Sunday, RCB quoted the actor’s original tweet and responded, “Sorry bhai, not today.”

The response came following a spirited performance from the Bengaluru team during their match on Sunday. Punjab Kings, after being put to bat first, managed a total of 157 for 6 in 20 overs. The RCB batting line-up chased down the target with ease, reaching 159 for 3 in 18.5 overs.

Half-centuries by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal helped RCB continue their brilliant away run, registering their fifth successive win away from home after beating PBKS by seven wickets at Mullanpur on Sunday.

With this win, RCB has managed to avenge their five-wicket loss to PBKS at their home stadium of M Chinnaswammy Stadium and secured their fifth win of the season. They are in third spot, with five wins, three losses and 10 points. With the same win-loss ratio, PBKS is in the fourth spot.
