IND vs AUS ODI series 2025 stats: Most runs, wickets, sixes and milestones

India is set to begin a three-match ODI series against Australia starting October 19 at Optus Stadium, Perth, followed by matches at Adelaide Oval on October 23 and the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25. This series marks the beginning of India’s build-up to the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Shubman Gill will lead the Indian side, taking over captaincy duties from Rohit Sharma, who remains in the squad alongside Virat Kohli. The duo last featured in India’s victorious ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.

Australia will be led by Mitchell Marsh, in the absence of regular skipper Pat Cummins.

Historically, Australia has had the upper hand in ODIs, securing 84 wins. India posted their highest total of 399/5 in Indore in 2023, while their lowest was a mere 63 in Sydney in 1981.

Sachin Tendulkar leads the run-scoring charts with 3077 runs, 9 centuries, and 15 fifties in 71 ODIs. Virat Kohli has also scored 15 fifties, while Rohit Sharma holds records for the highest individual score (209) and most sixes (88). Rohit also scored 491 runs in a single series in 2014.

On the bowling front, Brett Lee has the most wickets with 55, and Murali Kartik holds the best figures of 6/27. Pat Cummins took 14 wickets in a five-match series in 2019.

Adam Gilchrist has the most dismissals (79), while Virat Kohli leads in outfield catches (32). Sachin Tendulkar played the most ODIs (71), and MS Dhoni captained the most (40). Ricky Ponting recorded the most wins as captain (21 from 35 matches). (With inputs from Agencies)
