Gujarat floods: Cricketer Radha Yadav thanks NDRF team for timely rescue

Vadodara: Indian cricketer Radha Yadav has been rescued by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) following severe flooding in Gujarat. Yadav expressed her gratitude to the NDRF team on Instagram. She posted a story thanking them.
In the video shared by Radha, the NDRF team can be seen transporting people by boat through the floodwaters.
The floods have caused widespread devastation across several cities in Gujarat, with many areas experiencing conditions similar to a deluge. Yadav, who was stranded in extremely adverse conditions, thanked the NDRF for their timely intervention.
Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the past few days, leading to the Vishwamitri River in Vadodara overflowing its banks. This has resulted in significant flooding in coastal areas, displacing residents. Reports indicate that 28 people have died in the past three days, and around 17,800 individuals have been evacuated from affected areas.
T20 WC Squad
Meanwhile, Radha has earned a spot in India's recently announced squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the UAE later this year through her consistent performances.
The tried and tested squad have been selected for the marquee tournamnet under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, hoping the experienced bunch takes the team to an elusive ICC trophy.
Barring Uma Chetry, all the squad members who were part of an unsuccessful Asia Cup campaign in July have been retained for the tournamnet beginning in the UAE from October 3.
The competition was shifted to the UAE from Bangladesh following unrest in the South Asian nation owing to a students' protest.
Spin all-rounder Shreyanka Patil and top-order batter Yastika Bhatia have been included in the squad subject to fitness. Shreyanka had fractured her finger during the Asia Cup game against Pakistan while Bhatia is recovering from a knee injury.
Following the loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final, Kaur will be under pressure to lead her team to the coveted title. The men were finally to able get the monkey off their back and win an ICC title after an 11 year gap back in June.
The women, who too have all the resources at their disposal, would be expected to cross the finishing line on this occasion. (With inputs from Agencies)
