Babar Azam slams bat on ground in frustration | WATCH

Babar Azam’s frustrating search for form hit another snag as the Pakistan Test captain was seen smashing his bat onto the turf following his second-innings dismissal in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Playing for Lahore Whites against FATA, the veteran batter failed to convert solid starts, registering scores of 28 and 42 in a disappointing 241-run defeat.
Babar’s frustration boiled over during the second innings after he poked at a length ball from Shahid Aziz that nipped away in the seventh-stump region. Having battled to 42 off 77 deliveries, the right-hander played away from his body and edged straight to first slip. Unable to hide his annoyance, Babar slammed his equipment on his way back to the pavilion.
FATA established control early after Lahore Whites opted to field. Fawad Arshad’s resilient 115 anchored FATA’s first innings of 362, before Lahore were bowled out for 234 despite Ali Zaryab’s 51. Mohammad Farooq then smashed 123 to set Lahore a daunting target, with the Whites folding for just 170 in their final turn at the crease.
With the opening Test against Sri Lanka commencing on November 9 in Rawalpindi, Babar has run out of time to iron out technical flaws in domestic cricket. The skipper must now rediscover his composure on the international stage.
