Awkward moment! Ashwin mistakes X user for Rohit's wife, drops message!

Veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin had an awkward exchange with a fake account impersonating Ritika Sajdeh, wife of Indian team captain Rohit Sharma. The interaction occurred after India’s defeat to Australia in the Sydney Test, which resulted in the team losing the series 1-3. A user with the handle @Nishitha018, using Ritika's name and photo, commented on Ashwin’s post, saying, "Australia thought they can clean sweep us." Ashwin, unaware that it was a fake account, responded with, '’Hi Ritika, how are you? Regards to the little one and the family.'’ After receiving a reply stating, ‘'I'm good, Ashwin anna,'’ he swiftly deleted his message upon realising the deception.

Rohit on missing out on Sydney Test
During lunch on Day 2 of the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India on Saturday, opener and right-hand batter Rohit Sharma revealed the reason behind his absence from the last Test of the series in a conversation with host broadcaster Star Sports.
The cricket world was left in shock when Jasprit Bumrah appeared at the time of the toss, confirming Rohit's absence from the playing XI. During the toss, the stand-in skipper confirmed that Rohit had opted out.
"I have stood down from this Test, but I am not going anywhere. This is not a retirement or moving away from the format. What a guy with a mic, pen, or laptop writes or says doesn’t matter. They cannot decide for us. I made the decision to stand down after coming to Sydney. Yes, runs are not coming, but there is no guarantee that you won’t be able to score two months down the line or six months down the line. I am mature enough to know what I am doing," Rohit Sharma told Star Sports, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
"The chat that I had with the coach and the selectors was simple: my bat is not scoring runs, I am not in form, this is an important match, and we need players who are in form. As it is, the boys are not in great form. So I had this simple thought in my mind: we can't carry out-of-form players. That’s why I thought I should tell the coach and the selectors what's going on in my mind. They backed my decision and said, 'You have been playing for so many years; you are the best judge of what you are doing,'" he added.
However, despite Rohit's absence, India lost the Sydney Test match, with Australia clinching the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a convincing 3-1 margin. The team’s loss to Australia resulted in India losing the series and missing out on the opportunity to secure a place in the World Test Championship final. (With inputs from Agencies)
