India's innings was marred by a top-order collapse, but opener Abhishek Sharma fought valiantly, scoring a 37-ball 68. All-rounder Harshit Rana supported well with a 33-ball 35, forging a crucial 56-run partnership for the sixth wicket when India was struggling at 49 for five in the eighth over.
Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler for Australia, triggering the collapse and finishing with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 13 runs in his four overs.
For Australia, Mitchell Marsh's aggressive knock ensured a smooth chase, while for India, Varun Chakravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets apiece but were unable to defend the modest total.
