‘IPL not a gentleman’s game’: Kundra presser on Rajasthan Royals on hold, but vows revelations will speak volumes

Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, shared a strong message on LinkedIn on Monday, June 2, amid his ongoing allegations against a key promoter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals. Kundra declared, “LET IT BE KNOWN I WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED OR SILENCED. THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT.”
He added, “THE GAME MAY BE CALLED ‘GENTLEMAN’S,’ BUT BEHIND THE SCENES, IT’S ANYTHING BUT.”
Due to recent developments, Kundra revealed that it may not be appropriate to hold the press conference scheduled for the day. “HENCE, THE PRESS RELEASE IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD BUT THIS IS FAR FROM OVER,” he said, urging followers to “WATCH THIS SPACE, WHAT I REVEAL IN DUE COURSE WILL SPEAK VOLUMES.”
Earlier Allegations Against Rajasthan Royals Promoter
Kundra had previously levelled serious accusations against a key Rajasthan Royals promoter, alleging financial misconduct, offshore money laundering, and hidden transactions. These claims were first made via LinkedIn, where Kundra said he would release documented evidence exposing “wilful suppression of co-promoter rights and entitlements, pattern of deceit and manipulation in shareholder dealings.”
His posts tagged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and included an image bearing the words “Karma Bol.”
Kundra’s Connection with Rajasthan Royals
Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty acquired an 11.7% stake in Rajasthan Royals in 2009, reportedly investing $15.4 million. Their association with the IPL franchise ended in 2015 after Kundra was banned from cricket-related activities by the Supreme Court due to his involvement in the 2013 IPL betting scandal.
Public and Stakeholder Reaction
The postponement of the press conference on Monday has increased speculation among cricket fans and stakeholders. Kundra’s firm stance against intimidation has heightened expectations for further revelations, keeping attention focused on the Rajasthan Royals’ internal affairs.
