Team India has departed from the airport to attend the victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede stadium. Thousands of fans have gathered to greet the team after the World Cup win.

The team has initially landed in Delhi and attended a reception hosted at the Prime Minister’s residence to congratulate them on their outstanding performance and their historic victory. From Delhi, the team headed to Mumbai to participate in the grand parade.

The team, arriving in the city after 5:00 pm, missed the scheduled start time due to their late departure from New Delhi. The celebrations in Mumbai were supposed to commence at 5 pm IST, with an open-top bus ride from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium. The specially designed bus, adorned with the colours of Team India and a picture of the ecstatic team holding the T20 World Cup trophy, is already in place, awaiting their arrival.

Donning the Indian jersey, with the national flag in their hands, fans have created an electric atmosphere to welcome the Rohit Sharma-led side that ended the 13-year-long World Cup drought. The jubilant fans have danced to the tune of the Indian team's success.

Fans in Mumbai are eagerly anticipating the parade, which promises to be a spectacular event, celebrating India's T20 World Cup win after a 13-year drought. The parade will allow fans to celebrate alongside their cricketing heroes in a memorable victory procession.

India clinched the T20 World Cup title with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final. Virat Kohli's stellar 76 runs helped India set a target of 176/7, while Hardik Pandya (3/20) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/18) played pivotal roles in restricting South Africa to 169/8, despite Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive 52 off 27 balls. Bumrah’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament, earning him 15 wickets at a remarkable economy rate of 4.17, won him the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
