Kafir controversy: Muslim Youth League to stage protest march to Vadakara SP office

Vadakara: The Muslim Youth League to take out a protest march to the Vadakara SP office, blaming the police for not conducting a serious investigation regarding the complaint filed in connection with the circulation of a screen shot with a ‘Kafir’ reference in Vadakara. The protest march will be held on May 9 .

The youth league has also demanded arrest of culprits behind the incident. The Youth League alleged that the police are not investigating the case properly and action should be taken against the former MLA and others who had circulated the screenshot on social media. They also stated that the screenshot with messages wreaking of communal contents are still being propagated even after the elections. 

Muslim Youth League Thiruvallur Panchayat Committee has announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh to people who prove the controversial content to be true. In the press conference, the youth league alleged that the message was  being spread through a fake whatsapp group and even senior CPM leaders had shared this to aggravate the situation.  They also said that the screenshot of the fake post is being circulated as an attempt to create differences and communal hatred in the society.
