After tying the wedding knot, bride rushed to polling booth to cast her vote

Vizhinjam:  On Friday, Mullur Panavila GUPSchool witnessed a special voter, Aparna G Nair, the bride, who came straight from the marriage venue to cast her vote in the lok sabha election. She entered the polling booth holding the hand of her husband BK Rahul. The polling officer of the booth let her in and allowed her to cast her vote after completing the procedures.

Aparna, daughter of late S Gopakumar of Mullur, near Vizhinjam and S Sreekumari, was keen on casting her vote this time. “I couldn’t cast my vote in the previous election. This time, I wanted to vote”, she said.  But, this year also, the prospects of her casting the vote seemed a bit remote as her marriage was fixed on the same day. Determined to cast her vote this time, Aparna talked about her wish to her relatives and the bridegroom, Rahul. As everybody stood with her, she was able to fulfill her desire to be a part of the democratic process, this time.

Rahul, son of Bhuvanendran Nair of Malayinkil and L Krishnakumari, is only too happy that his wife could fulfill her wish to cast her vote on the day of the marriage itself.  Aparna has reached the booth along with Rahul and her mother Sreekumari in the afternoon, after having the marriage feast. Some of the relatives too have accompanied them to the school.
