West Asia conflict: Schools to remain closed in UAE; Classes to be held online

Dubai: All public and private schools as well as universities in the UAE will shift to online learning. The restriction will be in place from Monday, March 2, to Wednesday, March 4.
The decision has been taken jointly by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, considering the safety of students and teachers.
Escalating West Asia conflict
The precautionary move comes amid escalating tensions in West Asia following recent military strikes involving Iran, Israel and the United States. The situation intensified after reported joint US–Israel attacks on targets in Iran, followed by retaliatory action by Iran against US military facilities in the Gulf region and against Israel.
The rising hostilities have heightened regional security concerns, affecting air travel, oil markets and financial sectors, including a surge in global gold prices. Gulf countries, including the UAE, have been closely monitoring the developments as tensions threaten broader regional stability.
Authorities in the UAE have described the shift to online education as a temporary precautionary measure in view of the evolving security situation.
