Washington, US: A passenger jet has collided with a helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington.

There was no immediate word on casualties, but all takeoffs and landings from the airport near Washington have been halted.

Shocking visuals have emerged showing a helicopter and an aircraft colliding. Video appears to show two aircraft—a helicopter and a commercial airliner—colliding earlier at the airport. According to reports, a search operation is ongoing in the nearby Potomac River.

That's according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which says the collision remains under investigation.

Multiple helicopters, including those from the U.S. Park Police, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, and the U.S. military, were flying over the scene.

D.C. Fire and EMS said on X that fireboats were also deployed to the area.
