‘If it weren’t for me, REALLY BAD things would've happened’: Trump threatens Putin

Washington DC: On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of obstructing progress towards peace in Ukraine and stating that he was “playing with fire.”

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realise is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!”

The statement comes amid a continuing deadlock in diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine, with mounting frustration in Washington over Moscow’s stance.

Trump has often positioned himself as the only leader capable of restraining Russia and resolving the Ukraine conflict, though critics have challenged his approach as unpredictable and heavily reliant on personal rapport with authoritarian figures.

Putin has not yet responded to Trump’s latest remarks.
