Trump says US may join Saudi strikes on Houthis after Riyadh airport attack

US President Donald Trump is considering whether to join Saudi Arabia’s military campaign against Yemen’s Houthi rebels after a missile struck Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Saturday, injuring several people and prompting an evacuation.
Asked whether Washington would take part in the Saudi strikes, Trump left the possibility open.
“We may. We're going to look at it,” he told reporters.
The US president said his administration had only recently learned about the latest attack and that a decision would follow.
“We just found out about the recent attack. So we'll make a decision. We move very quickly,” Trump said.
Missile hits Riyadh airport terminal complex
The latest attack targeted a complex housing terminals 3 and 4, which handle domestic flights at King Khalid International Airport, according to a regional official. Several people were wounded in the strike, while the airport was evacuated, two regional officials said.
The incident adds to a series of attacks on Saudi Arabia in recent days, as the kingdom faces mounting security pressure amid the widening conflict involving Iran.
Saudi Arabia has been targeted repeatedly since a Saudi-led coalition began a major military offensive against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in neighbouring Yemen earlier this week.
The Houthis had claimed responsibility for previous strikes, including an attack on Wednesday that killed a Sudanese national. However, the group had not issued an immediate statement claiming Saturday’s airport attack.
