New Delhi: Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi shared a lunch meeting on Friday with former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his five-day visit.

Earlier Tuesday, LoP Rahul Gandhi toured the BMW World museum in Munich, Germany, where he admired Indian engineering showcased via the TVS 450 cc motorcycle, crafted with the German automaker.

While engaging visitors amid BMW car displays, he remarked, "India needs to start producing; production is the key to success in any country. Our manufacturing is declining; it should actually be going up."

In a party-shared video, Gandhi noted, "We went to the BMW factory -- fantastic experience --, and I was particularly excited to see that they have a 450 CC bike, the TVS, and I think that's going to do well. Good to see that the Indian flag is flying here."

Rahul Gandhi drew a hearty reception from the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) at Berlin Airport upon landing for his five-day Germany trip.

He spoke at Berlin's Hertie School on leadership, democracy, and global responsibility.

"Democracy is not merely a system of government--it is a constant process of engagement, responsibility, and accountability," Gandhi stated, pondering leadership, democracy, and global duty amid a fast-evolving world.

Addressing students, scholars, and academics, Gandhi drew from his personal and political journey.

The five-day visit, revealed during Parliament's Winter Session, drew sharp flak from BJP leaders alleging his overseas jaunts undermine commitment to the Indian Congress. The Germany itinerary runs till December 20.
