BREAKING: Myanmar military resumes air strikes near Bangladesh border after seven-month lull

Fresh air strikes by Myanmar's military near the Bangladesh border sent shockwaves across border communities on Wednesday night, ending a lull of nearly seven months.

According to locals, the strikes targeted areas in Myanmar's Rakhine State close to the Bangladesh frontier.

Around 9.30 pm local time, four powerful explosions were heard in quick succession, with the blasts echoing across Teknaf in Cox's Bazar district.

Residents said houses shook in several areas, from Jadimura to Shah Porir Dwip, prompting frightened families to rush outdoors. Many described the explosions as among the loudest heard in recent months.

The renewed bombardment has sparked fresh concerns among people living along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, where previous clashes and military operations have often caused fear and uncertainty.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage on the Bangladesh side.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the latest strikes. The incident comes amid continued instability in Myanmar's Rakhine State, where fighting between the Myanmar military and armed groups has periodically intensified, forcing civilians to flee and raising security concerns along the border.
