Several loud explosions were reported across parts of Dubai late Tuesday night, with thick plumes of smoke rising over the Jebel Ali industrial area, triggering widespread concern among residents and prompting intense speculation online.

However, authorities had not immediately confirmed the cause of the incident or reported any casualties at the time of writing.

Eyewitnesses said a series of powerful blasts echoed across the city, with many claiming they heard four to five explosions within a short span.

Residents in neighbourhoods surrounding Jebel Ali and Al Furjan reported hearing loud booms, while videos circulating on social media showed dark smoke billowing into the night sky.

The authenticity of several of those clips could not be independently verified.

The incident appeared to be centred around Dubai's Jebel Ali area, a major industrial and logistics hub that houses warehouses, manufacturing units and port facilities.

Some reports suggested emergency responders and firefighters rushed to the scene, while traffic restrictions were reportedly imposed on roads leading to the affected area.

Officials had not released details on the extent of the damage. The explosions come against the backdrop of heightened tensions across the Middle East, leading to unverified claims on social media that the incident may have been linked to missile or drone activity.

Several online accounts alleged that Yemen's Houthi movement had targeted the area, but no government authority or military agency had corroborated those claims.

There was also no official confirmation that the explosions were connected to any regional security developments.

As images and videos spread rapidly online, residents sought updates from local authorities, while officials remained tight-lipped about the nature of the incident.

No evacuation orders or public safety advisories had been issued immediately following the blasts, according to information available at the time.

Authorities are expected to provide further details once investigations establish the source of the explosions.

Until then, the cause of the fire and smoke over Jebel Ali remains officially unconfirmed, with speculation continuing to circulate across social media platforms.
