Melania Trump threatens to sue Hunter Biden over 'false, salacious' Jeffrey Epstein claim

Former First Lady Melania Trump has issued a legal threat against Hunter Biden, demanding he retract explosive comments linking her to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein — or face a lawsuit.
Through her attorney, Alejandro Brito, Trump slammed Biden’s remarks as “false, defamatory, and extremely salacious,” accusing him of causing her “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”
The dispute stems from Biden’s recent interview with British journalist Andrew Callaghan, in which he claimed Epstein introduced Melania to now-President Donald Trump — a statement she vehemently denies. Biden cited author Michael Wolff as his source, but Trump has previously dismissed Wolff as a “third-rate reporter” who fabricates stories.
Melania and Donald Trump have long maintained they met in 1998 at a New York Fashion Week party hosted by modeling agent Paolo Zampolli.
The August 6 letter from Brito, first reported by Fox News Digital, warns Biden to publicly retract his statement. It echoes the hardline legal tactics favored by Donald Trump, who frequently uses lawsuits to counter critics.
Public figures like the Trumps face steep legal hurdles in defamation cases, but Melania’s team insists Biden’s Epstein claim crosses the line.
Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell, who is handling his ongoing criminal matters, has not yet responded to the letter.
