Jill Biden accused of ‘elder abuse’ – did she hide Joe Biden’s cancer?

New York: Former First Lady Jill Biden is facing intense scrutiny after former US President Joe Biden’s diagnosis with severe prostate cancer.
A senior Department of Justice (DoJ) official has publicly called for criminal charges, accusing her of concealing the President’s deteriorating health.
Leo Terrell, senior counsellor to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, labelled Jill Biden’s alleged actions as “elder abuse”. In a post on X, he asserted that the First Lady knowingly pushed her husband to run for office despite his health problems. “Elder Abuse! Criminal Charges??” Terrell wrote, although no official legal action against her has been announced.
The development follows speculation that Biden’s stage five metastatic cancer—reportedly growing undetected for nearly a decade—was deliberately hidden, much like past concerns regarding his cognitive health.
Donald Trump Jr added to the controversy, questioning how Dr Jill Biden could have missed the severity of the President’s condition. “Is this yet another cover-up?” he asked.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump seized the moment to cast doubt over whether Joe Biden personally signed key legislation while in office. Trump alleged that an autopen—a device used to replicate signatures—was possibly used to approve major policies, including those affecting US immigration.
Speaking to reporters at the Capitol, Trump said: “We’re going to start looking into this whole thing with who signed this legislation. I don’t think he [Biden] knew.” Trump questioned who was “operating the autopen” and suggested that someone other than Biden may have been behind significant executive actions.
Trump further implied that Biden’s advisers may have been ideologically aligned with Senator Bernie Sanders, raising concerns over who truly held decision-making power in the White House.
